Zoo Lights

We ventured out to Lincoln Park Zoo Friday night during Mother Nature's rather wet
attempt at a snowfall.

Zoo Lights began a few years ago, and since this is our first winter season in
Chicago
we've tried to see as many of these special holiday displays as possible.

We were surprised to see so many people out in the misty, wet weather. Oh, those

undaunted Chicagoans. Lots of parents with young children and lots of folks in the grandparent age group as well. The area was very dark except for the thousands of lights, which made them seem even brighter. Although we were damp, we had a great time.

If you live in the city, or are just visiting, the Zoo Lights extravaganza is on display
nightly
from 5-9 p.m. until January 3rd. But don't head that way on the 24th or 25th, they're closed. Oh, and I forgot to mention - it's free!
